Valtti Plus Color is a partially water-based, non-film-forming wood stain for exterior timber. It’s designed to absorb into the wood rather than sit on the surface, offering strong protection while allowing the wood grain to remain visible with a full matt finish.
This stain provides effective protection against UV exposure and moisture, helping exterior wood stay looking better for longer, even in changing weather conditions.
Application Advice:
New surfaces are typically treated with two thin coats, while maintenance coats can be applied as needed depending on exposure and wear.
Do I need a primer?
Valtti Plus Color is designed to absorb directly into exterior wood and does not form a surface film.
New or bare exterior wood: We recommend priming first with Valtti Primer.
Previously stained wood: A separate primer is not usually required, provided the surface is clean, sound and free from loose material.
Previously painted or varnished wood: This product is not suitable. Any remaining surface film should be fully removed before applying Valtti Plus Color.
Please note:
Avoid mechanical stress for the first few days because the surface has not yet reached its final hardness.
