Preparation
Bare Wood:
Clean the wood surface of dirt and dust. Wet the surface slightly with water. Allow to dry, then sand off loose wood fibres. Remove the sanding dust.
Previously Treated Wood:
Remove sanding dust carefully with a vacuum cleaner and wipe the surface with a damp, lint-free, clean cloth.
If the oiled surface is in very poor condition, remove the oil completely by sanding (using a polishing machine). Before oil application, test a small area to check the suitability of Helmi Furniture Oil on previously treated surfaces.
Application Method
Applied with a brush, we recommend using a Zibra 2-inch angled Brush or a lint-free cloth.
No excess oil must be left on the surface. Remove excess after approximately 20 minutes.
To maintain the quality of oiled surfaces, like furniture, heavy-duty kitchen worktops or toys, re-oil regularly.
