How much paint do I need?

The volume of paint required for a job is a simple calculation. Just divide the square metre measurement (m2) of the area to be painted by the spread rate of the paint you’re applying (m2/l).

If you’re applying two coats, double the area. If you’re working out volumes for a primer, one coat is usually sufficient.

Helmi Primer

Use Helmi primer to prime furniture, cabinets, doors, window frames, skirtings, architraves, radiators, etc.

Not suitable for MDF.

It is water-based, very low odor, and it’s safe to use on childrens cots, beds and toys.

  • Matt acrylate primer for interior use
  • Prime wood, chipboard, wood fibre board and metal
  • Suitable for priming substrates previously painted with standard waterbased or oil based paint, including alkyds and acid catalysed paints
